Once you have your basic model balsa, you can add extras for additional comfort and safEty.

The first upgrade you'll want is a roof.

This will keep you cool in the midday sun, dry in the the tropical rain and collect drinking water for you and your crew. So, put on some Psy-trance and whack up the frame.

The canvas roof will come on later. This jungle has sticky fingers. Anythings that's not nailed to something too heavy to pick up will disappear X)

Lay down a deck for extra comfort.

If you plan to spend more than a week on your raft, I recommend a deck. Find a local wood mill and buy some decking planks...

Don't say no to curious travellers. Thanks for the help Dags!! :)

Next up, lets build the kitchen.

I guess I am over building things a bit... but I like making stuff...so fuck it!

So this is how I've designed the kitchen. Gas bottle in the centre, little shelf to store the cooker when not in use and space around that for all the pots, pans, food and stuffs.

Storage.

I've been warned that conditions are pretty harsh in the jungle. Humidity and temperatures are high, and it's hard to keep things dry and free from mold. I've decided to go with these plastic, water tight barrels to store personal stuff. Should do the job :)

Then put on the roof :D

Next step is to get the raft in the water. I just went into the village and told everyone I had a carton of beer ready for who ever helps me drag the raft into the water.... Worked like a charm.
